About Us

The Community Show is presented to you by Pete Helmore and Max Hall. It airs live on Somer Valley FM every Sunday between 12 - 2pm. The show first aired in November 2009 and features a wide variety of interviews, fundraising activities and music, to suit all the people of our local community. It also provides the community with a service where they can promote their own event, organisation or fundraiser, on such a unique medium as radio. We are always happy to help.

Serving Norton Radstock and beyond, the purpose of The Community Show is to promote community interaction and to keep listeners up-to-date on what's going on in our local area. The show will also occasionally be broadcast from different remote locations in the local area, so make sure you tune in, to see if the show is coming near you.

Community Show Presenter Pete Helmore thinks 'The show is about bringing the community together and getting the interaction needed in communities, proving the community spirit is still around. At the end of the day community radio does what it says on the tin; helps out the community, and that is what we are here for.'

Dom Chambers, the Somer Valley FM Station Manager also thinks 'Radio is a unique medium. It is singularly placed to link people. That is what Community Radio is here for. Everybody at this radio station is part of our community. We welcome all who live here to get involved. Somer Valley is your home and Somer Valley FM is the home of your radio station'.
