Champion Run

Champion Run

We are frequently keeping the community informed and updated on Champion Run, with their latest news and phone in interviews with John Reynolds; who, on 29-30th April 2009, ran 110 miles non-stop from Little Bridge House Cornwell Branch to the Children's Hospice South West's Somerset Hospice, so far raising £20,100, double the original target of £10,000. This phenomenal fundraising effort was in aid of the Children's Hospice South West and there is still a chance for you to donate today. John has now decided to take on a huge task of running more than 300 miles. He will run from Land’s End to Bath, starting on the evening of Thursday 26th May, and finishing the following Monday 30th at Bath Abbey. In the coming weeks, The Community Show will be joined by John, and they will be talking about the epic venture from the first time he came into the studios to now. Stay tuned to The Community Show on Somer Valley FM...

The Champion Run website is available for viewing by clicking the logo, where you can catch up on the latest news, view the running route, read up on John's fascinating blogs and find details on how you can donate. John will phone into the show live and get in contact with Somer Valley FM to keep us all updated frequently and also keep you informed about other fundraising events for Champion Run that you can get involved in.

John is very thankful for your help and support, and would really appreciate you taking some time to visit the website and consider a donation.

MS Society

MS Society

Somer Valley Volunteer Mike Killey has always been a proud supporter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society. Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is the most common disabling neurological condition affecting young adults. Around 100,000 people in the UK have MS. The MS Society is the UK's largest charity for people affected by the condition.

Two years ago, Mike completed the challenge of a skydive, raising £500 for the MS Society. He is now taking on the challenge of doing a Bungee jump, targeting £125 of fundraising. If you would like to donate towards this excellent cause and show your support for Mike's Bungee jump, click here.
